Jamaica has recently experienced yet another general election in the midst of a new school year. Coincidence? Inconvenience? We think not. God wants the youth to be awakened to prayer even for the nation. He says He calls upon us because we are strong. In the same breath, He also wants us to believe in His sovereignty, that He is the one who ordains those in power (Romans 13:1, John 19:11) and He works all things together for good. As a bonus, we must remember that, ultimately, the better country we seek is living in God’s kingdom for eternity; it is not here and now.
Therefore, regardless of what unfolds as a result of our earthly government’s actions, the reality of our citizenship in heaven surpasses those and will give us confidence to trust our God to keep us to the end. Indeed, our hope is not dependent on this world, nor human rulers, but on the King of the Universe. Nevertheless, we are charged to keep a pure heart, pray for our leaders, and honour them out of reverence for God (1 Peter 2:17, 1 Timothy 2:1-3).
Hear our youths as they prayed for Jamaica after the national election on September 3.

Father, we thank You, and praise You. We thank You for Your love and mercy. Lord, we reverence Your presence and power, and we ask You to have Your way. Father, we ask that You cover this nation. Lord, You see the evil that is plaguing our nation—the crime, ungodliness, demonic music, abuse, and general departure from Your good and acceptable ways.
Father, You also see the people, the tears, the fears of their hearts, the concerns they have, and the weights they carry. Lord, we ask You to lift burdens, meet them where they are, have mercy on souls, and change the desires of evil hearts. Open up doors and opportunities for repentance. Let those who have walked away from Your ways know that as long as they have life there is an opportunity to repent and an opportunity to seek Your face.
Father, we also ask You to have mercy on the leaders of the nation. Allow them to retain You in their knowledge. Give them a desire to seek You and a desire to lead the country in a direction that pleases You. Father, give them the vision for what You desire of the nation and give them the heart to want to see it done.
For those of unsound mind roaming the streets, Father, let there be an arm of safety for them; that they would be able to live peacefully. For those grieving losses, we pray You remind them that You are able to mend broken hearts.
For our children, we ask that You give their parents the wisdom to train their children in the fear and admonition of You, dear God. Let there be Godly influence around the youths in their various environments. We pray that the teachers and other adults interacting with them, will do so with compassion and understanding and care for the children.
Lord, we just ask that Your grace/influence and love will wash this nation. Wash us clean that we may be able to hear and obey You, so we can expect Your return with joy and hope. Amen.

Lord, I thank You for allowing us as a nation to live to this point, for our lives to be existent even past the election of the new heads of this country. As election has ended and a new chapter begins for Jamaica, Father, I pray for the souls of this country—all who are battling hate in their heart, stubbornness, idleness, laziness, addictions to lustful things like pornography or masturbation, regardless of their age. I pray for them to be delivered into Your hands, Lord.
Father, I pray against the persistent lies of the enemy, attacking our youths’ minds and even the minds of the elderly. I pray against chaos. In Jesus’ name, break every single chain of sorrow, doubt, suicidal thoughts, addiction, depression, anxiety, laziness, curses through word of mouth, and demolish anything that holds back Your children, even Your apostles who are sent out to spread the word of life and truth.
In Jesus name, I pray for this country to rise in love, by exhibiting the title of “Christian country of the Caribbean” in its truest meaning, becoming followers of Christ in love and truth, no longer just by name.
Heal those who are broken, Lord, and save us from the jaws of the enemy. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we humbly come before You, lifting our beloved country into Your hands. Lord, establish righteousness and integrity in every seat of governance. Let our leaders walk in wisdom and truth, seeking justice for all and not the gain of a few.
Father, we cry out for our youth. Protect their hearts, guide their steps, and awaken their purpose. Raise them as voices of change, pillars of hope, and builders of a future rooted in honour and faith. Heal our land, O God. Let Your light shine through the darkness, and may this generation rise to lead with courage, conviction, and compassion. In Jesus’ mighty name—Amen.

Most Righteous and Heavenly Father, I thank You for this wonderful island of Jamaica and for the people You have placed as citizens here. I pray that Your perfect and pleasing will be made evident across all fourteen parishes of this island, in every sector, pillar, and government.
Lord, I pray that even as a new body of government has been selected, I pray that every decision made over these next few years will be sanctioned and directed by You. May Your presence and power be made evident in every cabinet minister. Lord, may they be righteously inspired to implement strategies that will propel the nation into the direction You intend. I pray that they will be given the grace needed to manoeuvre every challenge that arises. Lord, I thank You for everything You have done for this nation, all You are doing at this present moment, and everything You will be doing for this island of Jamaica. Amen.
