Do Not Abort the Dream God Gave to You

You have a dream God is telling you not to abort. Myles Munroe once said that “the richest place on the planet [earth] is the cemetery.” Why do you think that is? It is true because you have not set in motion the innovative ideas God has given to you and if you don’t, you die with them. Your excuse is not a lack of resources nor a lack of favours because if God says, then He will also provide. It’s a charge on your life; a mandate that you are expected to fulfill. Provision will be made for each stage of your purpose. The stages are not without its challenges, but do remember what God said to you.

The word ‘abort’ means to discontinue or suspend. Let us take a look at each meaning of the word in light of your God-given assignments.

To discontinue your assignment is to have begun the assignment and stopped before the task is complete. What hindered you? Galatians 5: 7 says,

You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

Care must be taken that you adhere to the specifications given you from God. Don’t veer off to the right or left simply because you caused your own ambition to supersede God’s mandate or because the cares of life stopped by and choked you into giving it up.
Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Mark 4: 7

Suspend means to be temporarily prevented from continuing. We all want to be in a good place fulfilling our assignments for God’s sake and for the sake of the Kingdom. If all is well all the time though, it’s then time to check in with God just to ensure that the blueprint you received is the one being followed because there is no way you are going to have an easy time of completing your task. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; [but God] came that [we] may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

Who [then] shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39

When you abort, you waste!
Are you using the resources God has given you? It begins with all the talents and abilities He deposited in you. It includes the people He has placed around you.

These people are your support. They have what you need; they will give it to you; not only will your business thrive, but they will thrive too because they are giving of their treasure, time and talent.
Resources are also favours. You can walk into an establishment and be granted a waiver of sorts because you fit the profile of the campaign created in their Board Room to attract additional business.

Your job is to ensure that you are effectively using all of what you have. Don’t waste; use the resources at your disposal; don’t be shy or ashamed to ask for help when you know the help is there.

When you arrived here from the dust, you came with a purpose. Instructions were given and you came already built to fulfill those purposes [Psalm 139].

It is true that your talents and abilities must be honed, but it also means that you have the capabilities to hone them. Whatever God has placed on your inside, He would have anointed you to accomplish. Isaiah 61:1, 3 is a reminder that,

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on [you], because the Lord has anointed [you] to proclaim good news to the poor… and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

How would the talents multiply in Matthew 25: 14-30 if what you get and not invest goes right back to your Creator as you received it? You must recognize your natural inclinations and act on them.

Act on Your Dream

The time is now! Your plans may only be in the embryonic stages; you may only just now be putting pen to paper and penning your vision, but whatever it is, ensure that you are acting on the design God specified as He specified to Solomon in 2 Chronicles 3 . You should always be working towards fulfilling your dream but be careful not to go ahead of God.

Cheating to win, going before time will cripple the purpose. Once there, you are helping to cripple that dream.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Phillipians 4:6
Wait on the Lord!
You can’t do it alone!
God will favour you with the people who will assist you in getting your dream fulfilled!
Once you achieve your goal, give God the glory!
How do you know it’s God – because satan will give nothing good
