Don’t Be Penny Wise And Pound Foolish

Children Are Critical To The Cycle Of Life

By Germaine Lynch

One would have thought that in a world so technologically savvy and scientifically all-knowing, that the nonchalance shown in murdering unborn babies and infants would be repulsed by all human beings with any form of integrity. However, much to one’s consternation and deep dismay, there appears to be an attitude of glibness and relish towards the destruction of the innocent. This destruction is taking place from conception to birth and infant form. This speaks to me of a serious case of heartlessness, cruelty, and myopia.

The advocates of such behaviour are seemingly operating from a tunnel-vision perspective. Their lack of foresight does not allow them the luxury of understanding the importance of children to the continuity of the human race. They are totally oblivious to the future role children will play in the maintenance and economic stability of societies. Many advocates of abortion are so dim-witted that they pay little or no attention to “what is to come” and are stuck blithely in the “here and now”—none so blind as those who cannot see.

Many have not stopped to think that the joys of “now” have no longevity and that the rigours of life without children can be a nightmare of “I wish I had not.” Especially as one enters old age, there is so much time for reflection: “My son or daughter would have been this or that age. I regret the selfish sale of my future for popularity’s mess of pottage.” The impossible bears no possibility, and for some, it’s just constant emotional misery and remorse, without the satisfaction of any resolution.

In this present era of Godlessness, cheap popularity, and shortsightedness, abortion has become a lightning rod of moral indecency and disrespect for human life. Those in the rat race to destroy the innocent lack the intellectual, mental, and spiritual fortitude to understand the importance of children for the cycle of life. The young are supposed to take the place of the old in work, decision-making, nurturing, scientific and technological advancement, and caring for the needs of the family (including the elderly) and wider society.

To the advocates of the mutilation and obliteration of the unborn and infants, I ask these questions: where will future doctors, nurses, theologians, and other relevant professionals be found to take the place of the present generation? How will seniors survive? How will welfare and pensions be maintained and disbursed? Who will take care of the sick and the infirm? What if the child you have discarded like garbage was the only one allotted to you and was in God’s plan to become the first scientist to find a complete cure for all cancers? You would have stymied God’s business.

Your expression, “My body, my choice,” is born out of ignorance of how you have come about. Remember this: you do not own yourself but exist only by the mercy of a very tolerant God. Be enlightened—without children, society ceases to exist. Think about this and do not continue to dwell and participate in the city of baby murderers, in the camp of the “penny wise and pound foolish.”

God will forgive anyone of anything that they truly repent of, but if you decide to be unrepentant and a stumbling block against His designated order for the human race, He will not withhold His judgement from you.
