Today, Minister Dr Natasha Grant stands as a testimony of how God comes through when His children are obedient. During her presentation at the recently held TBC/FCMI Women’s Conference at Tarrant Baptist Church, under the theme “For Such A Time As This,” she used moments from her own life to encourage the audience and demonstrate the rewards of unwavering faith.
Emphasising the importance of obedience to God’s commands, Dr. Grant shared how the Holy Spirit impressed upon her to sow part of the money she had saved to make her final mortgage payment — $24,000 to be exact.
She admitted that she was far from a willing participant.
“Take the $24,000 and give it to the pastor to pay the visiting speaker. Brethren, I rebuke the devil the whole night. I say, I lick some tongues; I rebuke the devil, because the devil is a liar. Is can’t God tell me,” she testified, illustrating her reluctance to take such a significant leap of faith.
However, one night while tarrying in prayer, about 10 minutes before midnight, she received a message from a friend she had not heard from in quite some time. The message simply read, “Whatever the Lord tells you to do, do it.”
Dr Grant said the message humbled her, and she immediately repented before the Lord.
“I said, ‘Lord, not as I will, but as Thy will. Thy will be done.’ Fast forward: when I went to the next night of the crusade, I went to the pastor, and I said, ‘Pastor, the Lord said I must give you this.'”
After accepting the envelope and counting the money, the pastor told her that she had been on her knees crying out to God for a destiny helper to provide the funds needed to pay the visiting speaker.
Although she had obeyed, Dr Grant said she did not immediately see the money replaced.
Later, when she went to select her house at Gore Development, she was drawn to Lot 555. She said that when she saw the number, she knew that five represented grace and favour, and that was exactly what she was believing God for.
However, when it was time to make the payment, she discovered she could not afford the loan. She found herself questioning God, reminding Him that He had carried her through that difficult season.
“I said, ‘What is this? What is this? You carried me through a period of brokenness.’ But the Lord said, ‘You’re still going through the preparation to receive the power.'”
Determined to trust God, Dr Grant called two sisters to join her in prayer.
Meanwhile, her file remained on the desk at Gore Development for more than three weeks. The due date passed, which meant an escalation fee should have been added to the cost.
She soon realised that God had been working behind the scenes. During the delay, there was a sudden policy change at her workplace. As a result of that adjustment, her salary increased enough for her to qualify for the loan. Remarkably, the additional amount she received was the exact sum she had given to the pastor.
Today, she and her daughter are living comfortably in that home.
Dr Grant also shared another powerful testimony of how she had to storm heaven to ensure her daughter lived to leave the hospital.
Her daughter was born prematurely, before she had even completed seven months of pregnancy. The baby’s vital signs were dangerously low. Her blood count was below normal, her oxygen level was low, and she was turning blue.
Doctors informed Dr Grant and her then-husband that it was a medical emergency and that the baby needed an immediate blood transfusion. Before proceeding, they asked her to sign the consent form.
“I said, ‘Lord God, what is this? I’m already going through challenges. I’m already feeling the battle, the pressure of the battle. What is this?’ And the Lord said to me, ‘Lift your faith,'” she related.
She recalled that the baby was connected to tubes everywhere — in her mouth and on both sides of her tiny body — but despite the urgency, she stopped the medical team from rushing her daughter away.
When the doctors reminded her that it was an emergency, she asked them to excuse her for a moment.
She immediately called two pastors and began praying, encouraging her husband to join her in lifting their faith. She placed her hand on the incubator and, as she described it, “got crazy” in the theatre, marching around the incubator in prayer.
“I started marching, and I said, ‘In the name of Jesus, I command the blood pressure to come back to normal. I command the blood count to come back to normal, and I command the oxygen to normalize.'”
She declared every vital sign to be under the authority of God’s healing power.
When the doctors returned, Dr. Grant asked them to repeat the tests before she signed any paperwork. Since she had not signed the consent form, they could not proceed with the procedure.
About half an hour later, the doctors returned. One of them was smiling.
When the doctor looked at me, he said, ‘Mommy, the baby can go home because the blood count is back to normal. The oxygen is back to normal.'”
For Dr Natasha Grant, the experience remains a powerful reminder that obedience, faith, and unwavering trust in God can produce miraculous results.
