There is a Warrior waiting to be unleashed on the inside of us, we just need to activate and walk boldly under the power of Almighty God.
When the Holy Spirit gave me this topic, this scripture came to mind:
“You are my war club, my weapon for battle — with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms.” Jeremiah 51:20 NIV
And it struck me like a bolt of lightning; everything just suddenly all made sense!
For several weeks I had been under some spiritual warfare. I felt torn and ripped, mental wars, health up and down, chaotic work life; everything just blowing up, like I’m fighting a constant battle. But then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Arise Warrior! Arise! What is meant to break you will only build you, my daughter.”
I immediately started to cry, wail really to God: “Though I may bend, LORD, teach me not to break or fold under pressure, but to breathe and remember that You, O LORD, are sovereign and in control.”
My problems didn’t fly away immediately, but my new perspective enabled me to lift up my head and look to the hills from whence cometh my help.
We need not worry, but that’s easier said than done, isn’t it? We know that worrying just makes a bad situation worse, still, it’s like we can’t stop ourselves from entertaining it. Or can we?
Let’s take solace and comfort in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (KJV) which states,
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
This scripture highlights an overwhelming certainty and trust the Holy Spirit gives to His people when we face trials. You see, in life we will face many obstacles and those obstacles come in different ways. Everyone’s storms are different, but the Bible is a spiritual map to navigate and weather those challenges.
As people of God, we must practise prayer – pray without ceasing and arise and fight. Trials will come, but we have the Holy Spirit and a great cloud of witnesses in the Bible who fought and overcame diversities alike. It was through these trials that their faith was refined and their strength was renewed.
When I began writing this piece, I felt this lump in my throat as if I was drowning, but as I focussed my energy on the Word, I started to feel empowered and content with a new-found peace and joy.
The Scriptures are filled with eternal truth that far outweigh any circumstances that may befall us, and if we take a closer look, we will see the enemy’s playbook and strategies. His master plan is always to derail or distract us from the mission and vision that God has set before us, but let’s keep our gaze solely fixed on the LORD.
Read Psalms 139:3-4 (TPT)
“You are so intimately aware of me, LORD. You read my heart like an open book and You know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.”
This Psalm speaks of the omnipresence of God and His intimate knowledge of us, which offer us an extreme measure of hope and comfort in the face of adversity and trial.
