” I Am the Lord That Healeth Thee”

Exodus 15: 25-26 “And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”

There is a difference between a miracle and being healed. The miracle is immediate, like someone getting up from a wheelchair, while healing is over a period of time. Healing can be in the form of a doctor’s visit, exercising, drinking more water, eating right, and/ or consistent prayer. God is still doing both!

Do you know that God is concerned with our overall wellbeing? This includes our physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual issues. 3 John 2:2 says, “Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayst prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.”

Nothing is wrong with having money but we should not be totally consumed by possessing or not possessing it.  Both are idolatry.  It’s better to seek after God and getting to know Him, than pursue all the riches in the world; for He alone knows what our future holds and thus, can appropriately steer us.

Does He always allow us to recover from mis-fortune? Ill-health? No. We don’t fully understand it, but we have prayed for others and they did not recover.  In this, we have to trust God more as “even in death the righteous have a refuge.”

God is taking care of us in the midst of world-wide and personal turmoil.Let us not lose hope and trust in Him. Let us rest in Him!

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10
