“In The Name Of Jesus, This Will Not Be A Problem!”

By Dr Arlene Rose-Lewis

It started as a regular day. We were at a staff luncheon, and the food had just been ordered when a team member came to sit beside me. As she sat, the sharp metal prong of her chair pierced the surface of my foot. Literally, I was unable to say a word as I gazed at the multitude of stars before my face.

It wasn’t long before a small crowd converged around me, examining the foot and making plans for us to go to the hospital. Words like tetanus shot and X-ray were floating around my ear, but my thoughts were fixed on the plates of delicious food that were on their way.  I was so looking forward to my own meal! Not wanting to end the festivities prematurely, I found myself uttering the words, “This will not be a problem, in Jesus’ Name!”

As the staff continued to give reasons why we had to leave immediately, I began to speak those words more firmly: “This will not be a problem!” It was very clear in my mind that I was not going to any hospital right then. Further, an unexpected thing was happening: the more I spoke the words, the faster the pain was diminishing.

“But the skin is cut,” someone exclaimed. As I saw the place on my foot where the skin had been peeled away, I did something that most doctors would not do. Like a child, I patted the skin back in place over the raw pink flesh below and said again, “This will not be a problem!” Eventually, the team accepted that I was going nowhere, so they settled down, and we had a nice lunch, forgetting all about me.

VANISHED!

It was much later that evening, when I saw my husband, that it all came back to memory. I began to tell him that I would need to do some dressing and care of my foot, which had been badly injured earlier that day. As we sat so I could show him the damage, I became confused — there was absolutely no sign of the injury or of the skin being stripped away.

After listening keenly to me trying to convince him of the magnitude of the damage that had been done just hours earlier, my husband left me on the couch. I took a moment to try to decipher what had happened and how it was that my foot was completely healed. The location of the torn skin could not even be found, and as hard as I pressed, there was no pain either. It was a marvel.

As a doctor myself, I knew that no physician could have stitched the flesh and gotten such rapid healing. That day, I learned the important lesson of immediately speaking into a situation and observing as the adversity yielded to the power of Christ working through me.

My words had not caused the miracle; it was the power of a biblical principle that we often ignore that was at work: “Resist the devil and he will flee.”James 4:7.

EVERY BELIEVER CAN DO THIS

Do you know that every believer in Jesus Christ of Nazareth is able to do this?

Since that day, I have taught many groups the value of resisting the enemy at the outset of any untenable situation, quickly before he gets to establish his field day. I have had reports from a woman whose son was choking on a small metal object he had put into his mouth. She panicked for a second and then spoke with conviction, “In the name of Jesus, this shall not be a problem!” In an instant, her son began to throw up and was no longer choking.

I have received many other reports where this has worked for various issues.

Why not stand in your authority over the enemy the very next time a sudden stressful situation arises in your life? Because the Word of God is indeed true, just as there are instructions that take effort to live by, there are also some that can give us enormous favour and blessing.

“And they overcame him [the evil one] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” (Rev 12:11)
