Based on what we see happening globally, there is a crisis building as a result of the choices being made by global leaders. Keep in mind that we have three main types of leadership:
- Man-Appointed,
- Self-Appointed, and
- God-Appointed
Leaders at all levels must have a vision for the people. Nowadays, the only vision we seem to hear about is climate change. Let it be understood that climate change is the result of man’s sin and disobedience.
Leadership’s Focus
The most important things on which today’s leaders must focus include:
- Food
- Health
- Water
- Shelter
Three of these are the basic necessities to sustain life.
Price increases have become a trend globally, while poverty is increasing, and people cannot access the basic resources needed to help them farm their own food to sustain their families. Furthermore, the health system is no longer about saving lives; instead, the sole focus is money-making.
Our water is disappearing rapidly, and what we do have is being polluted. While all that happens, thousands of people are being made homeless and are being displaced daily. The refugee crisis is a borderline super-crisis—off the charts. As it stands, 117.2 million people are now refugees globally – that does not include those who are homeless as a result of losing their homes to financial institutions and other organisations.
Current Leadership
Nation leaders have become arrogant and even more selfish. Many have forgotten that they have sworn on the Bible and that they are accountable to God. Their stewardship will be judged by God.
In order to be an effective leader, righteousness and truth must be the principles on which they stand. Psalm 89: 14 reminds us, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face.”
Today, they are leading the people astray so they can have and maintain power. Many leaders globally are mistreating the poor, and as a result, the people are fleeing to Western borders. All this is a clear indication that leadership throughout the globe has failed. So, to deal with the border crisis in the United States of America (USA), for example, the leaders of the other nations from which the people are coming, must re-examine their leadership styles to see why there is an exodus from their nation.
Likewise, leaders within the USA, regardless of party affiliation, must remember that God cares for immigrants as Psalm 24:1 reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.”
Joint Consensus for Restoration
Both sides must have a threat-free plan to restore the people. Furthermore, when a nation gives aid to another nation, it must be transparent and there must be accountability. As it stands, the monies given are not passed down to the people and the level or quality of aid is not received by the people.
Many of the poor today are losing the land. In some nations, the nationals don’t have access to their own beaches and natural resources.
Questions
There are some questions that must be asked.
- If leaders are burden-bearers, particularly for their nation, how do they sleep at night when they see the suffering of the people and the neglect of the poor and voiceless?
- Do the leaders believe that the wealth they have hidden away for their personal use is safe? Do they believe they will always be in power?
- Do leaders believe that the Council of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – will not listen to the cries going up to them?
- Why don’t the larger nations, who hold the debts of the smaller nations, write off those debts without any strings attached?
- Why don’t the “developed nations” remove the regulations in trade and travel that hinder the “third world nations” from progressing and experiencing economic growth?
Many of these nations have the capacity to build hospitals, and low-income houses, and remove certain duties and tariffs to afford smaller nations the opportunity for growth, for the benefit of all nations.
Each country’s problems will affect the other nations – all are connected – if one suffers, all suffer.
