Dear Editor,
Does Jamaican law require that the speaker be an elected parliamentarian? Some parliaments on this planet operate with a non-parliamentarian speaker.
In any event, are not Andrew and Juliet practising Adventist Christians who adhere to the binding biblical injunction on optics to “Abstain from all appearance of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:22)?
This verse emphasises the importance of avoiding anything that even looks like evil, reflecting a commitment to maintaining a righteous and blameless image.
While the specific application of this principle may vary, the underlying message is to uphold a standard of conduct that aligns with Christian values, promoting integrity and moral uprightness in all aspects of life.
With all due respect, to me, ‘being’ as well as ‘appearing’ “most honourable” matters.
I am,
