Letters to the Editor: Starbucks and the ungodly agenda

I watched a video recently concerning a female Christian who said she was fired by Starbucks because she wouldn’t bow to the pro-pride agenda.

The insanity continues!

In her video, the woman explained that she did not want to take part in the ‘pride festivities.’ However, she did not utter any negative word to the organisation about what was taking place, and she continued to live her Christian life according to her conviction. After a couple of years working there, the Starbucks management decided to be more outgoing with ‘pride month’ celebrations. They decided to put sexual preferences on their menu board for everyone to see. The young lady said that she merely cautioned management about that because there were children who would be coming to the establishment.

Next, they wanted her to use their ‘pronouns.’ What kind of ludicrous decree is that? So she ultimately got fired shortly after God warned her of impending exit. Another Christian was reportedly dismissed from the international coffee house for refusing to wear a ‘pride’ shirt. According to Starbucks, in an article published June 30, 2023, “Pride isn’t just a month – it’s core to Starbucks mission and our future.”

These occurrences cause me to wonder if the policies of Starbucks in the ‘land of the free and home of the brave’ are the same as the ones in Jamaica. Also, the government of Jamaica signed the Samoa Agreement, which condones and promotes these acts of insanity. Given this, what will June 2024 look like at Starbucks (Jamaica)? Will the workers be forced to wear the Alphabet Mafia’s shirt, or else be fired?

Another thought…since the culture of ‘inclusivity’ and ‘diversity’ is part of the foundation of Starbucks, what sort of contract did the Jamaican workers sign?

Very soon, just like the young lady and many others who have been fired because they refuse to bow to the ‘LGBTQI-minus community,’ everyone will have to pick a side. Either you’re for them or you’re for God. There will be no in-between!

May God have mercy on Jamaica land we love! It is time for us, as children of the Most High God, to increase our prayers, and speak up, speak loudly, and speak boldly against these ungodly practices…before they reach your doorstep.

I am,

Alicia Solomon
