Having wrested her independence from Britain in 1962, sixty-four years later, Jamaica has positioned herself to cede her hard-won sovereignty to foreigners.
Up to 1962, Jamaica’s development was deeply anchored in the Christian faith. The church served as the moral guide for families and governance and was the community heartbeat of the island. On August 5, 1962, a national day of prayer was held, with massive dedication services in every church to bless the new nation before the British flag came down on August 6.
The church heavily influenced Jamaica’s national anthem, “Jamaica, Land We Love”. Its winning lyrics were written by the Reverend Hugh Sherlock, a Methodist minister, who shaped the anthem into a direct, solemn prayer asking God for protection, wisdom, and justice.
Arguably, Jamaica’s location in the north-west Caribbean places her under heavy United States scrutiny, but surrendering to that country or bowing to the devilish ploys of the United Nations, the World Economic Forum (WEF), the European Union, China and others are deliberate choices the government is making to dislodge the nation from its Christian moorings.
The mad rush by the Prime Minister to advance Jamaica into a fully digital economy and his determination to ram the National Identifications System down the throat of the population are clear indications of the government’s submission to the dictates of beastly international bodies.
Further still, by signing the Samoa Agreement two years ago, the Jamaican government also signalled that it has capitulated to European funders and their unrighteous edicts.
This government rules from a place of compromise. It seems oblivious to the fact that only a few centuries ago, the foreparents of the current generations of Europeans boarded ships and headed to the African west coast, with handfuls of marbles to purchase men and women who they transported as cargo across the Atlantic to sell into the most brutal form of slavery known to humanity.
Between 1519 and 1519–1838, the slave trade was booming business. Today, the descendants of the former enslavers have set their sights on Africa and the Caribbean to again woo compromised governments into impressive financial agreements laced with the arsenic of economic sanctions if they fail to comply with their unrighteous demands.
Successive political administrations in Jamaica also rolled out the red carpet to Chinese and Indian influences.
While the depth of China-Jamaica relations spans 170 years of cultural history, contemporary ties have been transformed into a skewed economic alliance characterised by infrastructure development and rising geopolitical prominence that places Jamaica at the centre of Caribbean-China dynamics.
The Chinese also seized the opportunity to establish a number of Buddhist altars in several parish capitals and along the waterfronts, with the silent approval of the government.
While Hindu India and Jamaica share an 181-year history, it was Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness’ visit to the Asian nation in 2024 that brought the Hindu influence on governance to a crescendo.
Flanked by the owner of the Amber Group, Dushyant Savadia, and the head of the Guardsman Group, Kenny Benjamin, Holness, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kamina Johnson Smith, was escorted across the Atlantic to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is serving his third consecutive political term.
In India, Holness visited shrines and engaged in major Hindu rituals ahead of his third term bid in the 2024 general elections.
Shortly after Holness’ return to the island, the imminent arrival of senior Hindu priest Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar made the news. Dushyant Savadia, with open access to Jamaica House, invited and facilitated the visit of the Art of Living founder to Jamaica for the “One Love Jamaica Tour”.
The relationship between Savadia and the Jamaican government is multi-layered and highly influential. He had transitioned from a wellness instructor arriving in 2011 into one of the country’s most prominent technology champions and state advisers.
During Ravi Shankar’s visit, Savadia—who is also an international teacher with the Art of Living Foundation—joined Shankar in high-level meetings with Prime Minister Holness at Jamaica House, where they announced a US$5 million joint investment for education, rural development, and prison rehabilitation
This is not the first time that Jamaica has faced tough geopolitical, culturally questionable and religious incongruous choices amid rising tensions on the world stage.
During the intense Cold War hostilities in the 1970s, then Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley positioned Jamaica as a leader of the Non-Aligned Movement, championing an independent foreign policy that advocated for developing nations. Manley, who identified as an agnostic in matters of religion, was highly motivated by secular humanist principles. Even so, his political campaigns were frequently punctuated with Biblical symbols. He buddied up with Cuba and sought a fairer global economic system, which eventually strained Jamaica’s relations with the United States.
Edward Seaga, supported by the United States government, led the Jamaica Labour Party to oust Manley from Jamaica House in a massive landslide victory at the polls in 1980. Seaga rapidly dismantled Manley’s non-aligned, democratic socialist foreign and domestic policies. Although Seaga was a registered Anglican, he was fiercely committed to legitimising the Revivalist movement in Jamaica. Seaga facilitated and hosted Revivalist gatherings in official spaces, including the setting up a traditional Revival table at Jamaica House during his tenure as Prime Minister. This act brought the occult worship into the official offices of the state and direct confrontation with the Christian church.
Today, having effectively silenced the church, Jamaica is experiencing a systematic breakdown across its cultural, spiritual, moral and physical foundations.
In its sixty-fourth year of independence, the nation is drifting through a plethora of crises without moral guide or protection from our Eternal Father.
Be sure of this: the embrace of foreign gods has always unleashed God’s wrath against nations. Jamaica will not escape.
