Prayer for our Children

Halt their speed to take revenge oh God

By Janet Rowe

LORD, humanity can experience the goodness of salvation again.  LORD, revival can take place again. Peace can reign again in our homes. Unity can be achieved, LORD. Love can flourish. Prostitution rings can shrivel up, LORD. Crack houses and drug dens can become empty. LORD, our streets can be rid of the homeless and the hungry. Sex-trafficking can stop. Mental illnesses can go, in Jesus’ name. LORD, the percentage of fathers locked away in prisons can be drastically reduced.

O LORD God, there is nothing that is too hard for You; nothing is impossible for You, LORD. All power belongs to You, LORD. You, God, are greater. You, God, are Sovereign. Only You can bring back the luster into gold. Your gemstones (Your children) need to be gathered up from the doctors’ rooms of experiments.  They need to leave the petri dishes found in laboratories.

Pluck them, LORD, from the slippery slopes of deception; pull them back from the place of erosion and stop their feet from gathering speed to take revenge. LORD, remove the voracious appetite they have for serving only self…LORD, this in itself is misplaced worship, and finally, LORD, please release them and the rest of us from the shackles of sexual immorality. LORD, this one sin has been following mankind one generation after another.

There is No other God like You God…no not one…There is none like You, God. Break the generational consequences that our children have inherited and are fleshing out before us, LORD.

Father, I pray that our children will come to know that there is nothing common about them. LORD, I pray that they will know LORD GOD, that You knew them even before they were even born. You, LORD, said thatwe are valuable and we want our children to become aware of these truths.

LORD, some of us as parents are guilty of not teaching our children about You. Some have put distance between themselves and You, LORD, and others have successfully removed themselves completely from Your presence and have followed after their own gods. This is not a wise thing for us to do, but LORD, You can restore the guilty if only they would return to You and repent.

Our children are wasting away, LORD.  They do not revere You and they have no respect for You, and now, LORD, we are reaping the consequences of our own detestable actions. We are to be blamed for some of the slippery slopes that our children have found themselves on, LORD.  Slopes, O God, that are guaranteeing them a front row seat in hell. But, LORD God, Eph. 2:4-5, tells us that You are a merciful God. And You, LORD, will not turn away any sinner who comes and believes in Your Son, Jesus Christ, and repent of their sins. So intervene, LORD, intervene. You have poured out Your abundance of grace and kindness toward us and we must grab hold of these.

Father, we will no longer give in to distractions. We want our children to come under the banner marked “The children of the day.” Joel 2:25 tells us that You will give us back what we have lost to the swarming locust, the hopping locust, and the cutting locust. LORD, we do not want to live with the locust forever. LORD, You are able to bring our children back home and place them into high ranking positions.

Yes, LORD, lead our children back, Lord Jesus. Lead them back…back into the Promise Land that You said belongs to them. Milk and honey will be their food, LORD God, and they will live the abundant life You promised them: a life lived in obedience to You and only You. LORD, the next generation (our children) will be Your children, too, LORD, and You will be their GOD.

For, “Who shall separate us form the LOVE of Our God?” Romans 8:35 says. “Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or the sword? No…neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor power, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the LOVE of God which is in Christ Jesus.”

LORD, You are not a man that You should lie.  No, LORD, You are not. We believe that You will rescue, deliver, and restore our children, LORD.

Thank You, LORD Jesus, for what You are about to do. In Your name, I pray. Amen and Amen.
