Shaping “WIFE MATERIAL” and husbands “BUILT IN HIS IMAGE”

By Tania Case

Who trains anyone for marriage and life?

The year 2020 came with shock, awe, and instability for many, as the bedrock of their beliefs was tested and tried against a destabilised world. What an atmosphere for God to embed a ministry intent on wholeness of soul through anchoring one’s Christianity!

“Wife Material” Mentorship and “Built in His Image” (BIHI) Men’s Mentorship programmes are operated by Pastors Errington and Tania Case, who have been married for 23 years. They have been Christians for twice as long, in terms of years combined.

WIFE MATERIAL MENTORSHIP

Wife Material Mentorship began amidst curfews and quarantines with eight committed mentees who were prayerfully chosen to undergo a year of Esther-like treatment for the soul, using the manual “Wife Material” and its accompanying workbook. As controversial as the name may sound, this mentorship focuses on healing from trauma, unpacking the past, and renewing the mind with the Word.

Our sessions took on many forms and formats, but what never changed was the intimacy we encountered through worship of the one true God. In His presence, we encountered Him as a Healer as He removed the band-aid from age-old wounds that had been causing us to limp along in life. In other sessions, He showed up as Deliverer from generational curses and secret vows. Regardless of what He did, we understood that patient worship was required to usher God in to bring about the needed transformation. Every module, backed by the Bible, could then begin the process of reprogramming hearts to righteousness. For each module, there is a set of soul-searching questions aimed at self-encounter with the help of the Holy Spirit. Mentees have often called the questions “exams.”

Since its first cohort, Wife Material Mentorship has streamlined its’ 12-week programme with Cohort One women forming the ministry team, which has so far served over 120 women in six cohorts.

We are anchored by 3 John 1:2, which teaches us that our prosperity is contingent upon the prosperity of our souls. “The state of your soul will determine the state of your life.” It is imperative that we have healed and whole souls in order to operate efficiently and effectively in our purposes.

“I HOPE YOU FIND A HUSBAND…”

What would be the point of having Wife Material Mentorship if women didn’t get married after? One young lady recalled being jeered by her sister about attending Wife Material. “I hope you find a husband after you graduate.” Glory to God, in one year, we had eight weddings, along with engagements. Yes, young Sis was among the eight brides.

A most delightful thing is seeing the Wife Material women being asked for their hand in marriage by their counterparts in the men’s mentorship Built in His Image programme. Both mentorships have experienced three such reasons for celebrating!

BUILT IN HIS IMAGE MEN’S MENTORSHIP

“Built in His Image” (BIHI) Men’s Mentorship also began in the midst of the pandemic and attracted men from different walks of life. The ministry’s goal is to restore men to a place of understanding their roles and responsibilities, as God intended from the beginning. BIHI is also based on the “Built In His Image” book written by Pastor Errington Case. The book focuses heavily on setting the right foundation in the Word so that men can build their lives up to reflect the principles and presence of God.

Interestingly, the hallmark of BIHI also became worship, as the men discovered they were mostly musicians and singers, much like their lead mentor.

Today, BIHI includes men from various walks of life, including Catholics, Baptists, married, singles, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

BIHI slashes modern-day lies that leave men assuming a passive role instead of ascending to their call as leaders and heads of homes.  These men are taught to develop their relationship with God through active devotion and to grow educationally and in their careers. A common phrase spoken amongst them is “No work, no woman.” Men were made to work!

Together, Pastors Errington and Tania Case have formed “Be One Flesh” ministries, which seek to gird singles with truth prior to entering into marriage and also help married persons flourish and be productive in their union.

UPCOMING SINGLES CONFERENCE

On November 4, 2023, Be One Flesh Ministries will be having a singles’ conference at the Jamaica Conference Centre under the theme “The Plumbline.” There is a strong call for singles to realign themselves to God’s standards in order to experience the advantages that come with discovering who we truly can be in Christ.
