Sista Sasha  ‘Champion Jockey’ Standing Strong

Karen Chin, better known as Sista Sasha, walked away from dancehall music at the height of her career, and more than a decade later she says she has absolutely no regrets about the decision.

The journey has not been an easy one. Over the years, she has faced numerous challenges and difficult moments, but through it all she remains confident, as God has been faithful to her every step of the way.

Her latest single, Champion Jockey, the first release from her upcoming EP, reflects that personal journey and captures the determination that has helped her “ride out” the storms of life.

“The harder they come, the harder they fall, the harder they press. I’m standing tall. They can’t stop me. I’m breaking free. I got to fulfill my destiny,” the lyrics declare powerfully.

The song has already racked up thousands of views online, with listeners commenting on its relevance and how deeply they connect with its message of perseverance, faith, and overcoming adversity. Many have shared that the track speaks directly to their own personal struggles and victories.

Presently, Sista Sasha is preparing for a tour on the west coast of the United States while spending long hours in the recording studio as she works to release even more music for the Kingdom.

In an earlier interview with Freedom Come Rain, the artiste explained that many of her songs are inspired by real-life experiences and situations. Reflecting on one of her previous albums, 70 x 7, she spoke candidly about God’s mercy and faithfulness despite her own shortcomings.

“Just knowing the type of God that I serve and the many times I failed Him, He has never let me go,” she shared while discussing the project.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Sista Sasha relocated to New York at the age of five. She first began singing in church before later becoming involved in dancehall music. However, in 2008 she made the life-changing decision to leave that genre behind and dedicate her talent fully to gospel ministry.

Since then, she has recorded a number of inspirational songs including Jesus A Di Don, Chosen, Let This Cup Pass, and Nuh Trouble Me. She continues to use her music to encourage listeners and share messages of hope, faith, and perseverance.
