War Room: A Good Road Map to Salvaging Marriages

With all the latest movies being released, I find myself going back to the 2015 Christian drama film entitled War Room. The film, written and directed by Alex Kendrick, is exactly what many of us, as Believers, require.

There would be less divorce if some troubled couples spent a little over an hour watching the drama unfold on the screen.

The takeaway from this film is that some battles are not meant to be slugged out in a relationship by hurling hurtful words or allowing bitterness and anger to eat away at the last threads of what could have been a happy relationship.

No one is perfect, and no one is immune from temptation, and yes, one party in the relationship may be stronger than the other, and when “slippage” happens, War Room gives a great perspective.

Find your “war room” and go down to “knee city.”

Instead of cursing and making the relationship worse, give it to God. Going to war through prayer can bring about victory and leave you with peace of mind.

The couple in this movie had their marriage put to the test, and a wise woman directed the wife where to look for answers. May we all have wise people in our lives who would much rather salvage a relationship than see it torn apart.

If you have not watched War Room yet, you should.

And if you’re watching from the comfort of your home, try making popcorn on the stovetop – it’s very easy to prepare with a little coconut oil, and some jalapenos on the side.  If you cry, you can always blame it on the pepper.
