When Sisters Preach!

Recent news reports indicate that many women across the globe are choosing to remain single and independent, ditching marriage and motherhood. This emerging trend is a rejection of the divine design, a ploy of the enemy to declare men optional, unnecessary, and redundant. This idea essentially accelerates the culling of the earth’s population.

This satanic ploy works simultaneously with attempts in some churches to keep women away from pulpits. Both occurrences appear disconnected at first glance, but they are shoots from the same root.

When Christian women, especially in congregations where men are few and far between, are told to be seen but not heard, the proliferation of the gospel is slowed to a crawl.

While men are established by God Himself to be the head of families and ahead of women in rank order, both men and women are temples of the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. No more,

Pastor Jacqueline McCullough

no less.

While male leadership in the church and family is the perfect will of God, there is nothing in the Scriptures that suggests that the male temple holds a stronger version of the Holy Spirit than the female temple.

So when Christian women are told to remain silent and to hold their corners, especially in this season of wanton secularity in our churches, it is an indirect move to shut down the presence of the Holy Spirit in the earth and bring the spreading of the gospel to a snail’s pace, if not halt it all together.

In the church, women account for more than 85 percent of nearly every congregation. This is the largest percentile of the Kingdom of God in many nations. To silence the largest cohort of the congregation makes no sense whatsoever.

Women, formed from the body of Adam, gave birth to the second Adam, in line with God’s order for humanity, which is to be fruitful and multiply, reproducing after our own kind. This fact was not lost on the Son of God, who ensured that women were very much a central part of His ministry.

Dr. Carolyn Ann Knight

Mary was used by God to carry the Living Word in her womb for nine months and deliver Him to the world. Mortal men have no authority to prevent any woman who is qualified from carrying a message to a congregation for a few minutes.

Those who prefer to see women as voiceless are using a mere instruction for order in the early church, where women were not educated in the things of God, to curtail, significantly slow down, or even halt the reach of the gospel in the end times. Many women have pursued higher education, even more so than their husbands, and are prepared to preach.

Understanding the purpose of life is a major factor in the cut and thrust of this heated debate. Of the over eight billion people on the globe, only a fraction truly find the answer to this needling question of purpose.

Until humanity recognises that the body is the temple of the true and living God, many will continue to use their God-created bodies as a safe harbour for Satan, rejecting the dire need for righteousness, which cannot be remedied by the ways of the world.

The human form was divinely designed in God’s image to be the habitat for His Holy Spirit. This fit-for-purpose understanding is inscribed in the scriptures: Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price.

The denial of divine purpose has facilitated a lot of misuse, abuse, rejection, neglect, misdirection, and even the destruction of lives.

Purpose is determined by God, the creator who formed man, placed him in the garden, and visited him regularly in the cool of the day for a ‘reasoning.’

Dr. Gina Marcia Stewart

Until men return to purpose, beginning with the headship of families, nations cannot be healed. But even in the throes of sinfulness, the gospel must be preached.

Men who have relinquished their God-given role as leaders in the home, church, communities, and nation will be justly punished, but defecting men cannot and will not deter or derail the ultimate purposes of God. The Word promises that if men and women fail to praise God, the very stones in the earth will rise up and fill the gap.

Men missing in action do not surprise the All-knowing God. He designed and appointed the ‘help meet’ when he saw that Adam needed a viable companion. This ‘help meet’ has stood firmly in the gap, singly holding tattered families together and occupying the vacuum established by man in pursuit of sin.

Men who fail to recognise that the great commission was not gender-specific are standing in the way of the ultimate return of the Messiah.

The question is, why? The answer is the same. It is the mission of the enemy to stop the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ and delay His return while populating hell as much as is humanly allowed and facilitated.

Jesus didn’t just come for men or for women who obey the misguided edict of remaining silent in church. He came for everyone, even the worst of sinners. If we believe in Him and obey His Word, we will be saved. His Word to believers at the point of His ascension was, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

He was not only commissioning the eleven disciples under the sound of His voice. Christ was instructing all disciples throughout the ages. This certainly included women.

Where would the church be today if one were to believe that Christ was commissioning only the eleven disciples who happened to be men? Be sure that very little would have happened over the last 2000 years if women were not engaged in discipleship, the preaching of the gospel, and the process of water baptism.

Men who understand divine purpose look beyond the useless, divisive, and destructive debate as to whether women should preach or not and examine the inner state of the temple created by God for His Holy Spirit.

Understanding the temple and its purpose should be the beginning and end of the debate. Whom we choose to believe and whose instructions we are determined to follow will provide the answer to the earth-shattering question: to preach or not to preach?

When the Spirit of the true and living God inhabits your temple, He will provide the clarity! If you are prepared, anointed, and appointed to preach, do it unto God. Go into all the world and preach the gospel like your life depends on it, because it does.
