Tamara Annmarie Ebanks-Powell was in her car on a prayer line recently, when she experienced one of the most horrific accidents.
Describing her car as her “prayer room, war room, and prayer closet,” she had stopped to allow another motorist to pass when a truck driver pushed her car right over a precipice.
The vehicle flipped over about 10 times as it went down the precipice, but Ebanks-Powell did not let up on the praises; she continued to praise God during the ordeal.
Reliving her ordeal, she said her car eventually landed on three bamboos, which she named Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and then back onto its four wheels.
“I just started worshipping Almighty God, and the rain was falling and the place was so dark. Then I took up my phone, turned on the flashlight, and went on a prayer Zoom meeting to give my praise report and start to share my testimony of my accident,” she shared.
The accident happened some minutes before 7 p.m., and her church deacon and church sister arrived with the police and waited for the fire truck that arrived about two hours later.
She was assisted back up with the use of a rope, and once she was back on solid ground, she said she immediately dropped to her knees and started worshipping God.
“I worshipped my great big God again, who protected me from death a
nd shielded me with His edges of protection around me from getting any injuries.
Reflecting on the accident, Ebanks-Powell said that after the firemen saw the mangled vehicle and how far it rolled with her, they had to exclaim that it had to be God.
They asked if she was a Christian, and her response was instant, “Yes!”
Following the accident, her ordeal was not over as she had to deal with medical bills plus wrecker fees. Ebanks-Powell said non-stop prayers saw her meeting those needs with her church family, who settled some of those bills.
By the time her car was removed by the wrecker, she said thieves were already at work scrapping the car radio and a whole lot of other stuff.
Her car is a total write-off, but she came out of the accident unscathed, and is believing God for another vehicle.
“I’m trusting my great big God because I know favour will come my way and my great big God will give me 10 folds more than what I did have,” were her confident words as she continued, “Purpose cannot die because my great big God favours me and it just draws me closer to Him.”
Ebanks-Powell revealed that she is always evangelising on the road and at the hospital. She said the accident has opened her eyes in a new way.
After surviving that ordeal, she said she cannot remain silent and cannot keep such a miracle in the proximity of her family and church community. She is determined to hit the road and share the good news that God is still working miracles.
According to her, others have to know about the great big God through her testimony and that He is still alive and well.
Just as He came through for the three Hebrew boys in the fire, Ebanks-Powell has the assurance that God can do the same for anyone in need of a miracle.
The 46-year-old mother of three children – one girl and two boys, is a member of the Kencot Christian Fellowship Church and has been a Christian for eight years.
One who believes in working for the Lord, she is a member of the choir, Women’s Fellowship, Couples Fellowship, prayer team and evangelises on the road.
Every month she is on the road with the prayer team going into communities in a battle to win souls for the Lord and trying to return backsliders to the fold.
