Apostle Christopher Murray: Delivered to minister

Apostle Christopher Murray is filled with a passion for ministry, and it is not surprising considering the call that has been on his life for as long as he can remember.

Part of that passion, however, comes from experiencing firsthand the miracle that gave him a new lease on life. Last year, he was diagnosed with advanced-stage colon cancer.

His blood count and blood pressure were extremely low because of the tumour. He became very weak and could barely function properly at work. He lost a lot of weight and suffered from excessive night sweats.

“Even during the diagnosis, I remained prayerful and tried to stay as close to God as possible. There were moments when I blamed myself. I wondered if this sickness was punishment for things I may have done in the past. I reached a point where I asked God to take me home,” Murray shared with Freedom Come Rain.

Even though he felt like giving up, he was deeply concerned about leaving his wife emotionally and financially burdened.

During his darkest moments, Murray recalled how God showed him that He was still with him. He said God made provision for his surgery, even though he had not worked long enough at his workplace to qualify for major surgery coverage through insurance.

“The insurance company increased their coverage from 80 per cent to 90 per cent, and then, on top of that, the surgeon decided not to charge me the remaining 10 per cent. I did not have to pay anything out of pocket. That was God!” he said.

Murray also shared that the night before his surgery, he had a powerful dream. In the dream, his wife told him that Jesus was in the room. Suddenly, he saw a bright light fill the room. Jesus then placed His hand into his colon and spoke one word:

“Live.”

Immediately, Murray said his entire body felt pure and overwhelmed by the tangible presence of God. He then saw an angel place him on a white horse, put a sword in his hand, and say:

“I have called you as an Apostle to the Nations.”

Murray said the encounter awakened the warrior inside him. He shared that it stirred him to tap deeper into the supernatural realm and restored his voice and spiritual authority.

During that season, he said the Lord also gave him several spiritual insights and dreams.

“In one dream, the Lord told me that I was receiving stripes in the Kingdom because of this attack on my body. He assured me that I would not die and that I would receive authority to rebuke cancer in people and they would be healed,” he explained.

In another dream, he said the Lord instructed him to purchase specific herbs online for his liver and kidneys because the tumour was pressing against those organs.

“My wife ordered the herbs, and after taking them I immediately started feeling better. Later, doctors ran tests and told me that my liver and kidney functions were doing remarkably well, which was unusual for someone carrying such a large tumour. The Lord also gave me another dream showing me certain foods I should begin eating after surgery to help strengthen my body and aid recovery,” he informed.

Born in Clarendon, Murray was raised in a Christian home, but from a very tender age he experienced several spiritual encounters that made him aware of the supernatural realm.

“At about age 18, I responded to an altar call at a crusade and gave my life to the Lord. The night of my baptism, I had a major spiritual encounter in a dream. In the dream, a demonic spirit came to attack me, but an angel of the Lord appeared and destroyed it. I woke up speaking in other tongues for the first time,” he related.

That experience, along with many other divine insights, confirmed to him that he was called to be a minister of the Gospel.

That confirmation was later cemented when an unknown person sponsored him to study for three years at Caribbean Pentecostal College.

Today, he is the founder of United Deliverance Centre Ministries International and also works as a chef by profession. Married to his “amazing” wife, Minister Marshalee Murray, whom he describes as his pride and joy, he said they have been serving the Lord together for many years.

In closing, Murray shared words of encouragement for those facing sickness, life’s challenges, or difficult situations. He urged persons to seek the counsel of God first and listen for His response.

“The way He heals one person may not be the same way He heals another. God may choose to heal through a miracle, or He may choose to use doctors and medical wisdom. In my case, the Lord used the hands of doctors to remove the cancerous tumour, while also giving me divine insight concerning natural healing and recovery. Doctors recommended chemotherapy, but I did not have peace in my spirit about it, so I chose not to proceed. Later, my results came back cancer-free,” he revealed.

His advice, he said, is to deal with a diagnosis spiritually first through prayer and divine instruction, and then do what is necessary medically and physically. At the end of the day, he noted, God is the One who gives doctors wisdom.

“So do not be afraid to seek medical help as long as you have peace in your heart about it.”
